Akwa Ibom Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, is set to host the inaugural ARISE Happy Hour & Evening of Rewards, an event aimed at celebrating hard work and service across the state, TheWILL reports.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Chairman of the Organising Committee and Secretary to the State Government, Enobong Uwah, described the event as “an exciting evening” to be led by Eno, blending top-tier entertainment with recognition for exceptional contributions.
Uwah said the event reflects the administration’s commitment to empowering and rewarding individuals and groups who have excelled in their respective fields, with a particular focus on female youths who are regarded as “the state’s greatest cheerleaders.”
According to the breakdown of rewards, ₦300 million will be disbursed to 400 trained female youths and beneficiaries of the Ladies in White under the Ibom LED Entrepreneurship Accelerator Program, with each recipient receiving ₦750,000.
Additionally, the best-performing Local Government Areas from the Christmas Unplugged 2024 celebration will be recognized and rewarded, while 50 winners of the Arise Home Farmers Scheme will each receive a ₦500,000 grant.
Outstanding athletes from the 2024 Governor’s Cup will also be honoured, alongside the best civil servants across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies , who will each receive ₦1 million in recognition of their dedication and exemplary service.
Tagged “A Night of Music, Recognition, and Celebration,” the event is scheduled for Thursday, February 6, 2025, at the Amphitheater, Udo Udoma Avenue, Uyo, starting at 6:00 PM.
The event will feature live performances by Africa’s highlife sensation, Flavour, alongside other popular musicians.
“There will be no restrictions; anyone interested is welcome to attend,” the statement added.
