The Pro Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of Federal University of Technology Ikot Abasi (FUTIA), Akwa Ibom State, Rt. Hon. Dr Emaeyak Ukpong is among the Pro Chancellors of Federal Universities in Nigeria that attended the just successfully concluded Strategic Workshop and Study Tour on the theme: “ Leveraging High-Level Public–Private Partnership (PPP) for University Capital Development” held at Doha, Qatar from 25th through 27th November, 2025.

The event which was organized by the Committee of Pro-Chancellors (CPC) of Nigerian Universities focused on advancing global frontiers and innovative sources of developing tertiary institutions in Nigeria leveraging on the Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) windows.

The CPC also had a strategic session and Seminar in Doha, Qatar with other global education leaders and critical stakeholders at the WISE Summit where discussion centered around the future of education and technology.

On the panel of discussion were global educators including the First Lady of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, Honourable Minister of Education, Dr Maruf Tunji Alausa, the Secretary General of the Committee of Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (CVCNU), Professor Andrew Haruna among others. Others in attendance were some of the Pro Chancellors and Chairmen of Governing Councils of Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria among others where issues germane to the Committee of Pro Chancellors (CPC) and education system in Nigeria and globally were discussed.
