The English side delivered a tactical masterclass in the first half, orchestrated by manager Enzo Maresca.

The Blues entered halftime with a three-goal lead and never looked back, lifting their second international trophy of the year after winning the UEFA Conference League in May.

How did Chelsea dominate the final?

Cole Palmer was the undisputed star of the match. The 22-year-old forward scored twice and provided an assist in a dazzling display. He opened the scoring with a precise finish and quickly added a second before setting up João Pedro for the third.

The Brazilian striker, officially registered on July 2, had already scored a brace against Fluminense in the semis and added his third goal of the tournament in just his fourth appearance in blue.

PSG’s hopes of a comeback ended with the 85th-minute red card to João Neves, who brought down Marc Cucurella with a tactical foul.

The final was watched by United States, U.S, President Donald Trump, who sat alongside FIFA President Gianni Infantino in the presidential box. The match served as a successful trial run for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final, which will also be held at the MetLife Stadium.

With this victory, Chelsea close out their season with an impressive international double and renewed confidence under Maresca. As for PSG, despite the setback, they end the year having finally conquered Europe, though the global crown will have to wait.
