Akwa Ibom Governor, Pastor Umo Eno visited the state Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Friday to celebrate the new year and his electoral victory at the Supreme Court.

Governor Eno, welcomed by a crowd of party leaders and members, expressed gratitude for the victory at the Supreme Court and the unwavering support of the party faithful in the state.

“I have come here to join our party in celebrating the new year. This marks my first visit as Governor this year to celebrate with the party, signifying both a new year visit and a victory celebration,” he stated.

“With the grace of God, the Supreme Court has confirmed our governorship victory, affirming your votes and support.”

Acknowledging his political mentor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, and the support across party lines, Governor Eno emphasized his commitment to governing with integrity and fostering unity to strengthen the state and the party.

Furthermore, Governor Eno reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to enhancing the economic prospects of the people of Akwa Ibom. He highlighted ongoing programs to bolster Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and the empowerment of business owners through the Ibom Leadership and Entrepreneurial Development Centre, which has seen 400 successful trainees.

“We are prepared to empower the 400 individuals who have completed the Ibom LED training. Next month, by the grace of God, the Bank of Industry will open an office in Uyo. We are aiming to provide single-digit interest loans to SMEs in the state, supporting their growth,” he added.

Addressing the gathering, the State Chairman of PDP, Rt. Hon Aniekan Akpan, congratulated Governor Eno on the affirmation of his victory by the Supreme Court, commending his accomplishments since assuming office.

“As a party, we are proud to have maintained an unbroken string of victories for 24 years. In just seven months, you have expanded the frontiers of development across various sectors of the state. If you could achieve this much in seven months, we can only imagine the progress over four years,” he said.

The Campaigns Director General, Chief Assam Assam, SAN, and the National Chairman of Maintain Peace Movement (MPM), Barr Emmanuel Enoidem, SAN, expressed confidence that the final judgment by the Supreme Court would pave the way for governance and state-building to thrive, leaving behind political issues.
