The Akwa Ibom State Police Commissioner, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, has urged Journalists to balance their reportage in the discharge of their duties as part of the ethics of their noble profession.



The Command’s PPRO, DSP Timfon John Said in a statement issued on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 in Uyo.

The Commissioner of Police made the call when the leadership of the newly elected Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Akwa Ibom State Council, paid him a courtesy visit at the State Command Headquarters, Uyo.

The Journalists were led by The newly elected Chairman, Comrade Nsibiet John, who commended the Commissioner of Police for his outstanding leadership in policing the state and for ensuring the safety of lives and property.

Chairman John explained that the visit was aimed at renewing ties with the Police Force in the state, he added that such engagements would be periodic.

Comrade John further applauded the CP for his media-friendly disposition and pledged the Union’s continuous cooperation and support in promoting peace and security.


While receiving The Executive of The Fourth Estate, CP Azare congratulated the new NUJ chairman and his Executives on their victory at the polls, he them of the Command’s unwavering support which the immediate past EXCO enjoyed.

Azare reaffirmed his Command’s continued collaboration with the Media in fightig crime in the state.

Comrade Nsibiet John was recently elected The Chairman of The Akwa Ibom State Council of The Nigeria Union of Journalists.
