The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, has emerged as Nigeria’s second-highest-rated federal institution in the 2026 Transparency and Integrity Index, TII, improving its score from 78.13 per cent in 2025 to 80.13 per cent.
The latest assessment by the Centre for Fiscal Transparency and Public Integrity, CeFTPI, evaluated 518 federal institutions nationwide, with the ICPC ranking among only four organisations that attained the index’s “Excellent” performance category of 70 per cent and above.
The ICPC statement announcing the development was signed by its Head of Media and Public Communications, J. Okor Odey.
The result represents an improvement for the anti-corruption agency, which placed third among 575 institutions assessed in 2025. Its score increased by two percentage points in 2026, moving it to second position nationally.
Reacting to the ranking, ICPC Chairman, Dr Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, said the independent assessment was an encouragement for the commission to deepen ongoing institutional reforms and strengthen transparency in its operations.
“I am delighted that the progress we are making as a Commission is being independently recognised,” Aliyu said.
