Blueprint Newspapers Limited, Abuja, has announced the appointment of veteran media practitioner and former Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Akwa Ibom State Council, Sir Dennis Udoma, as its new State Editor.

The appointment was conveyed in an official letter signed by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company, Salisu Umar.

In the letter cited by this Reporter, the management urged Udoma to foster teamwork toward achieving corporate objectives, while leveraging his media background to expand the frontiers of journalism and promote good governance across Akwa Ibom State.

Udoma brings over two decades of experience across print and digital media platforms, with extensive coverage spanning politics, governance, oil and gas, investigative reporting, developmental issues, and community affairs.

Over the course of his career, he has contributed to several major Nigerian publications, including Champion Newspapers, Vanguard, Daily Monitor, The Nigerian Observer, Foreign Correspondent and Blueprint.

He holds a degree in Communication Arts from the University of Uyo, as well as an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Public Relations and Advertising from the Plateau School of Management Studies, Jos.

He is an Award Winning Investigative Journalist in 2012 and, his professional credentials include; specialized certifications in Investigative Reporting and Journalists’ Safety (UNICEF, 2013), Peace and Diplomacy (Chartered Institute of Public Diplomacy and Management, 2014), Investigative Journalism (Voice of America, 2018), and AI Technologies in News Production (US Consulate Lagos, 2026).

Beyond journalism, Udoma is a community leader and religious figure. He was awarded Jerusalem Pilgrim (JP) status by the Mayor of Nazareth in 2014 and knighted into the Ancient Order of the Knights of Saint John International in 2020.

His elevation is expected to bolster Blueprint’s editorial presence and investigative coverage across the Niger Delta region.
