Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have intercepted a truck transporting a large quantity of military camouflage uniforms and suspected illicit drugs during an operation in the Surulere area of the state.

The operation, carried out by the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit, resulted in the arrest of three suspects and the recovery of dozens of sacks containing military uniforms, alongside cartons of substances believed to be illegal drugs.

The Commissioner of Police, Fatai Tijani, disclosed the development while presenting the suspects at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja.

The suspects were identified as Chinedu David, 29; Ezeagwu Chukwuma, 38; and Ifeanyi Ogbeanyi, 45.

According to the police, the trio was apprehended on Saturday night while transporting the items in an unregistered MAN diesel truck. Preliminary investigations indicate that the consignment was allegedly being moved from Lagos to a destination in Nigeria’s South-East region.

Security operatives recovered 47 sacks filled with military camouflage uniforms and 80 cartons containing substances suspected to be illicit drugs.
