The Directorate of State Services, DSS, has kicked against the idea of allowing foreign funding of its activities.

A bill before the House of Representatives is designed to establish a framework to overhaul the funding of the secret police, which includes foreign sources.

But, during the public hearing Thursday, June 18, 2027, the DSS, which hailed the Bill, objected to certain aspects.

One of its strongest objections was to a provision permitting grants, donations and endowments from international organisations.

The DSS argued that foreign funding for a security-related institution could undermine operational confidentiality and expose sensitive intelligence activities to external influence.
