The Chairman of Uyo Local Government Area, Dr. Uwemedimo Udo, has congratulated Professor Chris Ekong on his emergence as the substantive Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo.
In a goodwill message, Dr. Udo described the appointment by the Governing Council of the institution as a reflection of Professor Ekong’s academic excellence, leadership capacity, and commitment to the advancement of higher education.
The Akwa Ibom State ALGON Boss expressed confidence that the new Vice Chancellor’s tenure would usher in a new phase of scholarship, innovation, and institutional growth for the university.
The Chairman further conveyed the support and goodwill of the government and people of Uyo Local Government Area, noting that the appointment is a proud moment for the academic community, Uyo Local Government and the state at large.
Dr. Udo wished Professor Ekong a successful and impactful tenure as he assumes leadership of one of Nigeria’s foremost tertiary institutions.
