Kaduna-based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has mourned the death of Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was reportedly killed in Israel–U.S. strikes on Tehran.

Gumi, reacting on Sunday, described Khamenei as “a lucky soul” who died “in jihad against killers of innocent children and women,” adding that “his blood will fuel the change in the ummah.”

He praised the late Iranian leader for standing “firmly for justice and not hiding in bunkers,” and further stated, “For those who killed him or assisted in killing him, let us see what they will live to do in this world.”

The cleric’s remarks followed reports that Khamenei was killed in a joint U.S.–Israeli airstrike on Tehran, a development said to have been confirmed by Iranian state media and widely reported by multiple international outlets.
