The Inspector General of Police, IGP, Kayode Egbetokun, PhD, has approved the posting of two Commissioners of Policeto Imo and Plateau states.

The redeployments were disclosed in a police wireless message issued by the office of the Force Secretary.

According to the communication, CP Audu Garba Bosso, has been appointed the new Commissioner of Police for Imo State, while CP Bassey Samuel Ewah has been assigned to lead the Plateau State Police Command.

The wireless message, dated February 3, 2026, was issued from the Force Secretary’s office at Force Headquarters, Abuja, and addressed to senior police officials, including Deputy Inspectors-General, Assistant Inspectors-General, state Commissioners of Police, and heads of specialized units such as Interpol, the Counter-Terrorism Unit, Mobile Police Force, Border Patrol, Maritime Police, Air Wing, Bomb Disposal Unit, and other operational and administrative formations across the country.

The posting is with immediate effect.
