Nigerian celebrity chef and entrepreneur, Hilda Baci, has added another milestone to her growing list of global achievements after being officially recognised as a three-time Guinness World Records holder.
Baci made the announcement on her Instagram page on Tuesday, revealing that she received an unexpected email from Guinness World Records confirming an additional record tied to her historic cooking feat in 2023.
According to the message from Andrew Fanning, Head of Client Partnering at Guinness World Records’ Creative Team, a review of record guidelines showed that when Baci and her team achieved the record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, they had simultaneously broken the record for the largest serving of rice overall. As a result, she was proactively awarded the second title.
“I woke up a three-time Guinness World Records holder and I’m still trying to wrap my head around it,” Baci wrote, describing the news as a shocking but joyful discovery that came months after the initial record announcement.
She explained that she had believed the jollof rice record was the final recognition from the event, only to learn five months later that the same feat earned her an additional global title—bringing her total Guinness World Records to three.
“What I thought was one record turned out to be two,” she said, adding that the unexpected honour was a memorable way to step into 2026.
The latest recognition further cements Hilda Baci’s place as one of Nigeria’s most celebrated culinary figures, whose achievements continue to spotlight Nigerian cuisine on the global stage and inspire a new generation of creatives and entrepreneurs.
