‎The South South Zonal Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Chairman of the party in Akwa Ibom State, Hon. (Dr.) Ita Udosen, has commended the growing synergy between Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State and the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, describing it as a partnership anchored on “brotherhood, maturity and shared purpose to achieving prosperity.”



‎Dr. Udosen made the remarks on Tuesday during an interview on Team Nigeria Classic, a current affairs program aired on Inspiration FM, Uyo. He revealed that the relationship between the two leaders reflects a “new political culture focused on results not rivalry.”

‎The programme, sponsored by Senator Ita Enang, an Ambassador Designate, is aimed at engaging citizens on development issues while also promoting the APC’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the Akwa Ibom State Government’s ARISE Agenda at the grassroots. Describing the formidable platform as “strategic in deepening political awareness.”

‎According to him, the cooperation between Governor Eno and Senator Akpabio is already redefining governance in the state. Expressing optimism that the collaboration would translate into concrete dividends of democracy.

‎Udosen equally stressed that the governor’s alignment with the federal government under the APC has begun to yield visible benefits. He explained the move as “a pragmatic decision taken in the interest of Akwa Ibom people.”

‎Arguing that the APC’s philosophy of governance is rooted in inclusiveness, stressing that “development under APC’s administration is never driven by party colouration or ethnicity.” Adding that Akwa Ibom had continued to enjoy federal presence even before its current political realignment to the center.

‎Commending President Bola Tinubu, the party’s Zonal Secretary described him as “a nationalist leader” whose approach to governance is guided by fairness and equity. “President Tinubu thinks Nigeria first, not tribe or party,” he restated.

‎Highlighting several projects as evidence of the benefits accruing to Akwa Ibom under the current dispensation. Among them, Dr. Udosen cited the recent upgrade of the Victor Attah International Airport to international status, calling it “a milestone achievement for the state.”‎He also referenced the approval for the implementation of the Ibom Deep Seaport project, which he described as “a major transformative initiative that will reposition Akwa Ibom as a regional economic hub in Nigeria.”

‎The former State Chairman of the APC further pointed to the siting of the South South Development Commission in Akwa Ibom State, with an indigene appointed as Managing Director. In his remarks, “this clearly shows that the state is now at the centre of developmental planning.”

‎Stressing that several other Akwa Ibom indigenes have also been appointed into key federal boards and agencies, noting that “these appointments reflect growing confidence in the capacity of our people.”

‎Dr. Ita Udosen also re-emphasized the political implications of these efforts aimed at developments, saying there explain why the APC continues to gain acceptance ahead of the 2027 general elections. In his words “People naturally gravitate towards performance and not political sentiments,” he remarked.

‎Meanwhile, while praising the governor and the Senate President for stabilizing the political environment in the state, Udosen assured that the APC has no intention of suppressing opposition voices. Maintaining that “A strong democracy requires a healthy opposition not political harlotry as seen in the supposed coalition,” he warned.

‎Remaining critical of emerging political coalitions, Dr. Udosen described them as “vehicles designed mainly to serve the interests of a few political veterans.” He argued that such alliances lack a genuine commitment to nation-building. He concluded by calling on Akwa Ibom people and Nigerians to support the APC, urging them to “embrace a government that is strategic, focused on unity, development and national progress.”
