The Akwa Ibom Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, on Monday, December 29, 2025, issued a stern warning to those attempting to obstruct the Coastal Highway Project.
The Governor delivered the message during the commissioning of a new Model Primary Health Centre in Ndue Eduo, Eket Local Government Area, a flagship project under his ARISE Agenda. The centre, equipped with modern medical facilities, a solar-powered laboratory, a pharmacy, and staff accommodation, is set to provide quality primary healthcare to Eket residents and surrounding communities.
“Nobody will stop the Coastal Highway project in this State . We will bulldoze the Creek if necessary. I have the love of the Eket people, but I am Governor of all Akwa Ibom State. Being confrontational does not bring development.. You can not be in court the on a land matter and then turn around to issue contemptuous Caveat Emptors. Let’s negotiate, let’s discuss, but you cannot stop progress”
“My role is to build projects that benefit the people. I urge our contractors to deliver on schedule,” Governor Eno added.
Health Commissioner Dr. Ekem John described the facility as a milestone in rural healthcare, while Chairman of Eket LGA, Hon. Akaninyene Tommy, and prominent son Barr. Assam Assam (SAN) commended the Governor’s developmental vision and pledged support for its continuity.
The commissioning attracted members of the State Executive Council, local government chairmen, traditional rulers, youth and women leaders, reflecting a unified commitment to progress, infrastructure, and healthcare development across Akwa Ibom State.
Governor Eno’s firm stance on the Coastal Highway underscores his determination to ensure uninterrupted growth and development across the state.
