Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, on Tuesday warned political appointees against disloyalty, stating that anyone unwilling to align with his administration should resign.
The warning followed the dismissal of two aides on Monday over alleged acts of disloyalty.

Speaking at the swearing-in of the new Head of Civil Service, Mrs Elsie Anietie Peters, at Government House, Uyo, Eno said his administration would not tolerate officials who “work against the government” while serving within it.
“Everybody will not agree with us, and that is understood,” he said. “But what we will not tolerate is people believing they can be in government and work against the government. Every action carries a consequence. Quietly exit if you cannot stand with us.”

He referenced biblical texts to emphasise his position that divided loyalty is unacceptable in public service, saying those who benefit from government must also support its policies.
