Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, a controversial Islamic cleric, a terrorist sympathizer and self-acclaimed negotiator for armed groups, has reportedly fled Nigeria ahead of the anticipated the United States, U.S military intervention over the ongoing genocide against Christians in Northern Nigeria.

Also, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has reportedly fled Nigeria to Qatar.

Sheikh Gumi is known for his close interactions with armed terrorist in the North and has openly advocated dialogue with them. He has been widely criticized for appearing to defend their actions, leading many to label him a terrorist sympathizer.
Reports and public records also show that Saudi authorities once barred him from participating in the Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca due to his controversial activities and statements.

Emerging reports say that, Gumi is said to have fled to Turkey, though this information has not yet been officially confirmed.
Also, according to intelligence sources, El-Rufai is said to have left the country quietly late Sunday, November 9, night aboard a private jet, just hours after Trump vowed to target “anyone found supporting or protecting terrorist networks” in Africa.

A top U.S. military insider is reported to have said that: “Trump is serious this time. The message is clear — if you’re linked to terrorism or funding violence, you’re not safe, no matter your position or title.”
Reports also indicate that several northern politicians have gone into hiding, fearing a wave of international investigations and possible sanctions.
Both reports are yet to be independently confirmed.
