The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has announced the successful arrest of two suspected cult members and the recovery of dangerous weapons and items linked to organized criminal activities.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer PPRO DSP Timfon John made this known in a Press Release dated September 29, 2025 in Uyo.

“Following a tip-off received around 0100 hrs on Tuesday, September 24, 2025, Operatives of the Command arrested two individuals on Iyah Street, Uyo. The suspects were identified as Donald Iwat (m) and Daniel Bruno (m).
“A subsequent search conducted upon their arrest yielded the following items:
One jack knife, One walkie-talkie radio, Gunpowder, One “bullet-proof” charm (fetish substance), Two face caps bearing the insignia of the Black Axe Confraternity (cult group), Two machetes and A Police lanyard.
“The suspects are currently undergoing investigation to determine the full scope of their activities and potential links to other crimes.

“The Command assures the public of its commitment to rooting out cultism and other forms of violent crime, urging residents to continue providing timely and credible information to aid law enforcement efforts,” DSP John concluded.
