The Akwa Ibom Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has joined millions of Nigerians, family, friends and well-wishers in celebrating Nigeria’s elder statesman, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, GCFR, (Rtd) on the occasion of his 84th birthday.
In a goodwill message released on his behalf by his Chief Press Secretary, Ekerete Udoh, Governor Eno extolled General Babangida’s historic role in the creation of Akwa Ibom State in 1987, describing it as “a decision that unlocked the vast potential of our people and gave us a unique identity as the Land of Promise.”
He added, “Today, building on the foundations laid by our past leaders, Akwa Ibom continues to Arise to the dreams and expectations of our founding fathers. We remain eternally grateful for this golden gift.”
The Governor prayed that “God Almighty will continue to bless you with good health, sound mind, and the strength to witness even greater progress in our nation in general and Akwa Ibom State in particular.”
