Former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Mr. Umana Okon Umana, has revalidated his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring full support for President Bola Tinubu and Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, ahead of their expected re-election bids in 2027.

Umana completed the revalidation exercise on Wednesday, August 6, at the Salvation Army Primary School, Ikot Inyangeti, in Ndiya Ward, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, as part of the ongoing APC membership revalidation in Akwa Ibom State.

The revalidation, initiated by the state leadership of the party, follows a directive from Governor Umo Eno—who recently assumed leadership of the party in the state—calling on all members to return to their wards for the update.

Addressing party members at the ward, Umana described the turnout as a clear affirmation of loyalty to the APC and commitment to its leadership under Governor Eno. He called for unity within the party and urged members to begin early preparations for the 2027 general elections.

“We have to do all within our powers to support our son who, by the grace of God, is the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State,” he said. “This massive turnout by our people is a great show of support and solidarity with the governor.”

The former minister reiterated his commitment to working with Governor Eno to strengthen the party’s base ahead of the next electoral cycle.

“We are preparing very hard to strengthen and consolidate the APC so that in 2027, we will vote massively to return President Tinubu and our son, Governor Umo Eno, for a second term in office,” he added.

Umana’s endorsement of Eno, a serving governor from the state, is seen as a significant signal of intra-party alignment, especially amid broader efforts to unify the APC base in Akwa Ibom.

Present at the exercise were prominent APC leaders from the ward, including the Ward Chairman, Mr. Atte Asuquo; former Chairman of Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, Hon. Ini Orok; Hon. Inyang Unyah; and Engr. Alfred Emmanuel.

The revalidation in Nsit Ubium forms part of the state-wide exercise flagged off by Governor Umo Eno during his recent visit to the APC State Secretariat in Uyo. During the launch, the governor emphasized the importance of accurate membership records and preparing for a full digital transition of the party’s national database.
