As part of efforts to sustain the aesthetic and environmental integrity of Uyo and align with government’s urban renewal vision, the Uyo Capital City Development Authority (UCCDA) has directed all illegal occupants and developers on designated green areas to vacate within 21 days.
The affected sites—Oron Road by Ring Road 3, Nwaniba Road by Ring Road 3, and Aka–Nung Udoe Road by Ring Road 3—were previously acquired by the government, with compensation duly paid. UCCDA stated that these areas are earmarked for beautification and landscaping projects expected to commence soon.

Issuing the warning during an inspection tour of the affected locations, the Chairman of UCCDA, Hon. Anietie Eka, emphasized the government’s resolve to reclaim all encroached green zones in line with the Uyo master plan. He was accompanied on the inspection by the CEO of Hensek Integrated Services Ltd, the construction company responsible for the delivery of Ring Road 3 and a team of town planners from UCCDA.

The agency warned that any structures left standing after the deadline will be removed in accordance with city planning regulations.
