The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has cautioned the public to ignore fraudulent messages currently circulating online, which falsely claim that recruitment has begun for the 2025/2026 Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) and Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC), FirstNEWS reported.

In a statement posted on its official X handle on Thursday night, the NAF made it clear that no recruitment exercise is ongoing, advising Nigerians to disregard the misleading information completely.

“The attention of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has been drawn to fraudulent messages circulating online, falsely claiming that the NAF has commenced recruitment for the 2025/2026 Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) and Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC).

“The Nigerian Air Force wishes to state that no such recruitment exercise is currently ongoing. The public is therefore advised to disregard these messages in their entirety,” the statement read.

The Air Force further emphasized that its recruitment and enlistment processes are free, transparent, and merit-based, adding that it does not charge any fee at any stage or engage third parties and agents to handle enlistment.

It also reassured Nigerians that any official recruitment exercise would be widely publicized through credible national newspapers, the NAF’s official website, and its verified social media platforms.

The statement urged the public to remain vigilant against online scams and to rely solely on the NAF’s official communication channels for accurate information.
