President Tinubu To Receive Buhari’s Remains In Katsina

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will personally receive the remains of his predecessor Muhammadu Buhari in Katsina, TheNewsDESK has learnt.

President Tinubu also constituted an 18 member Inter-Ministerial Committee to oversee the State burial for Buhari.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Senator George Akume will chair the committee.

Buhari, who died in a London Clinic on Sunday, is expected to be buried on Tuesday July 15, in Daura, Katsina State.

Vice President, Kashim Shettima who is in London to conclude documentation and logistical arrangements, would be coming back with the former President’s remains.

The remains of the former president is expected to arrive in Katsina by 12: noon on Tuesday, July 15.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris said “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will personally receive the remains of the former President in Katsina.

“The remains will thereafter proceed to Daura, where the Jana’iza (funeral prayer) will take place, followed by interment at the late President’s residence.”
