The All Progressives Congress Media Network, APC-MN, has dismissed Alhaji Sule Lamido’s baseless insinuations questioning Governor Umo Eno’s decision to join the All Progressive Congress, APC.
This was contained in a Press Statement dated Monday, June 23, 2025, and signed by Otuekong Iniobong John, Director General of All Progressives Congress Media Network.

According to the Director General: “It’s laughable that Lamido, who should be preoccupied with resolving the internal crises plaguing the PDP, would attempt to fault the Governor’s wise choice.
“We challenge Alhaji Sule Lamido to clarify who the legitimate National Secretary of the PDP is before attempting to critique Governor Umo Eno’s decision. Until the PDP resolves its internal issues, its leaders should refrain from commenting on others’ political choices.
“The PDP’s internal woes are well-documented. The party’s inability to convene a National Executive Committee meeting without INEC’s scrutiny due to the dispute over its National Secretary is a stark reminder of its disarray. This is not a party that can credibly lecture others on political prudence.”
“Moreover, it’s evident that the PDP is a sinking ship with no future in the country’s politics. No sane individual would want to be stuck in a party marred by perpetual crises, leadership tussles, and electoral setbacks.
“Governor Umo Eno’s decision to join the APC is a testament to his foresight and recognition of the party’s growing influence and momentum. Governor Umo Eno’s decision to join the APC is also a strategic move to reconnect Akwa Ibom State to the national power center.
“By aligning with the ruling party, the Governor can effectively collaborate with key stakeholders, including the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, to attract essential democracy dividends from the federal government. This move will undoubtedly benefit the people of Akwa Ibom State, and we welcome this development as a positive step towards the state’s progress.
“The overwhelming welcome and acceptance of Governor Umo Eno’s decision to join the APC by every segment of Akwa Ibom State is a testament to the people’s desire for progress and good governance. This development transcends party lines, as the citizens are eager to benefit from the Governor’s strategic alignment with the national power center.
“The people’s positive reception of the Governor’s decision is what truly matters, and we are confident that this new partnership will bring about unprecedented growth and development to Akwa Ibom State,” Otuekong John concluded.
