The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has conferred a “Security Partnership Recognition Award” on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), acknowledging the Commission’s critical role in supporting national security efforts.

The award was presented during the Second Edition of the NPF Awards and Commendations Ceremony held at the Police Resource Centre in Abuja.

According to the police, the EFCC was honoured for its “invaluable support for Nigeria’s internal security through commitment and partnerships in combating terrorism, kidnapping, cybercrime, and other forms of criminality.”

Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, while addressing the gathering, emphasised that the event aimed to recognise excellence within the police force and celebrate collaborative efforts from partner agencies.

He praised the EFCC and other institutions for their steadfast cooperation in law enforcement, which he said contributes to creating a more secure and orderly society.

He also stressed the need for continuous innovation, digital intelligence, and adherence to global best practices to tackle evolving security threats such as terrorism, cybercrime, and organized criminal networks.

Present at the event were top dignitaries including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma; Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam; Chairman of the Police Service Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu (Rtd.); and Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ikechukwu Ogalla, who represented the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa.

Also in attendance were members of the National Assembly, agency heads, and several former Inspectors General of Police.
