Pastor Tunde Bakare, founder of the Citadel Global Community Church, visited President Bola Tinubu in Lagos recently. The meeting reportedly focused on national issues and the current state of the nation.

Bakare has been vocal about Nigeria’s challenges and recently urged President Tinubu to implement immediate and strategic interventions to address the country’s crises. He called for a “coordinated programme” to restore stability in Nigeria.

In an April broadcast delivered at his church, Pastor Bakare warned the President against “playing God,” expressing concerns that the administration was steering the nation off course. He urged the government to adopt a more humble approach to governance.

“Stop playing God,” Bakare said during the address, clarifying that although he disagrees with Tinubu, he does not wish for the President’s failure. “The current administration is steering the polity adrift. It is time for this government to embrace humility,” he added.

He emphasised that his remarks were meant as guidance rather than condemnation, hoping to encourage leadership toward a better path.
