Come Friday, May 16, 2025, Rev Dr Emmanuel Akpan Ossom, with his wife, Deaconess Mfonobong Ossom, family members and friends will roll out drums to mark his 85th Birthday Celebration and Thanksgiving, with the Akwa Ibom Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, as the Special Guest Of Honour.

This is contained in a press release issued Wednesday, May 14, 2025, by the Public Relations Office, PRO, of the Men’s Fellowship of United Evangelical Church, UEC, Itiam Etoi, Uyo, Amb Idorenyin Umoren.

“This thanksgiving service is to celebrate the illustrious life of the former Chairman of Conference of Qua Iboe Church, QIC, Rev Dr Ossom.”

The release also stated that “this special event with the theme: DIVINE PROTECTION, from Psalm 124: 1,8, will hold at the Church Auditorium of the United Evangelical Church, UEC, Itiam Etoi, Off Edet Akpan Avenue, Uyo by 10 am.

“His life is not just a celebration of age but a monument of Gods faithfulness as many guests are expected to attend the service.

“Most especially, the Akwa Ibom State Governor, His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno, is expected grace the occasion as the Special Guest Of Honour.”

Born into the family of Mr and Mrs Ossom Akpan in the Ikot Ubo Village, Nsit Ubium LGA of Akwa Ibom State, he was christened ‘Emmanuel’, meaning, “God with Us.”

Married to Deaconess Mfonobong Ossom, he had ministered in Scotland, America, Ireland, and other countries, touching lives.

Dr Ossom was elected National Chairman of the Qua Iboe Church, QIC, during the Church Annual Conference held at Kogi State (1996).

He spearheaded some many revivals and was a recipient of Ambassador of peace and numerous other awards.

His baptism on October 8, 1958, marked the beginning of a profound walk with God.

Upon his retirement in 2002 after decades of active ministry, Rev (Dr) Ossom remains a spiritual father and support to many and major Christian missionaries. In addition, he is a pillar of wisdom to anyone who seeks his advice.
