Political stakeholders in Akwa Ibom State have expressed their support for Governor Umo Eno’s decision to back the reelection of President Bola Tinubu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio in 2027.
Drawn from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC), Young Progressives Party (YPP), and other political parties, the stakeholders emphasized that their stance is rooted in the governance provided by Tinubu, Akpabio, and Eno.
Operating under the aegis of the Coalition of Democrats (CODE), the stakeholders highlighted the numerous top appointments granted to Akwa Ibom indigenes by the Tinubu administration and the monumental, people-oriented projects initiated.
In a communique jointly signed by CODE Chairman Useneobong Akpabio and Secretary General Usoro Akpanusoh over the weekend, they pledged their commitment to fostering good governance in the state and across the nation.
The communique reads in parts, “CODE CODE commends Mr President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, on the recent flag for the numerous appointments of Akwa Ibom indigenes into key positions in his administration of economic recovery/ prosperity and political development.
“CODE appreciates Mr President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for placing the development of the State above personal interest through his collaboration and synergy.
“CODE acknowledges the role of the senate president in the strategic political placement of indigenes of the state in top political offices, notably the appointment of Rt. Hon. Obongemem Ekperikpe Ekpo Ph.D, minister of state, Gas
“CODE, therefore, is in total support of the decision of the leader of Akwa Ibom state, His Excellency Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, Ph.D decision to support the President for a second term.
“We reaffirm the willingness of CODE to collaborate with other well-meaning individuals and organisations of like minds both within and outside the State for the proper consolidation of the ARISE and RENEWED HOPE Agenda. CODE in the true spirit of collaboration.”
