The State Police Command, under the proactive leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, wishes to assure the general public of its steadfast resolve to ensuring the safety of lives and property before, during, and after the Easter celebrations.
To this end, the Command has deployed adequate human and material resources across the 31 Local Government Areas of the State to ensure that the Easter season is celebrated peacefully and in an atmosphere free from fear or threats, the Command’s public relations officer, PPRO, DSP Timfon John said.
“High visibility policing has been activated with strategic deployment of personnel to churches, event centres, motor parks, major highways, recreational grounds, and other vulnerable points. Our men will embark on aggressive but professional foot and vehicular patrols across the state. All deployments are intelligence-driven, and officers have been warned to remain civil and respectful while discharging their duties.
“The CP congratulates all Christian faithful on the successful completion of the Lenten season, which is a solemn reminder of sacrifice, redemption, and hope. He calls on residents to celebrate responsibly, remain law-abiding, and be security conscious at all times.
“The Akwa Ibom State Police Command will continue to partner with all stakeholders to uphold the peace that Akwa Ibom is known for. Let us all work together to ensure a joyous and safe Easter celebration for everyone”. DSP John concluded.
