In a significant boost to local entrepreneurship, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has fulfilled his promise to support small business owners by providing Mrs. Ifeoma Itoro, a food processor, with a fully furnished start-up factory, essential machinery, and N2 million as working capital.

The Governor’s intervention follows a pledge he made during the March 11, 2025, business empowerment event at Uyo Township Stadium, where over 2,000 entrepreneurs received equipment support. During the event, Mrs. Itoro approached the Governor, seeking assistance to expand her food processing business.

Moved by her request, Governor Eno immediately directed the Commissioner of Trade and Investment, Dr. Ubong Inyang, to facilitate the establishment of her business.

Just two weeks later, on March 25, 2025, Mrs. Itoro received the promised support, including a well-equipped factory with all the necessary machinery to enhance her production capacity.

In addition to the infrastructure, the Governor provided her with N2 million to serve as working capital, ensuring she has the financial backing needed to sustain and grow her business.

Overwhelmed with gratitude, Mrs. Itoro expressed deep appreciation for the Governor’s generosity, praying for divine blessings upon him and his family.

The brief presentation ceremony was attended by key government officials, including the Commissioner of Trade and Investment, Dr. Ubong Inyang, and the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Mrs. Emem Ibanga, reinforcing the state government’s commitment to supporting small-scale entrepreneurs.
