The Nigerian Army troops have successfully repelled an attack by Boko Haram terrorists on a military checkpoint in Garkida, Gombi Local Government Area, Adamawa, ZAGAZOLA reports.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the attack occurred in the early hours of March 15 at about 1:05 a.m. when insurgents launched an assault on the Iron Gate military checkpoint.

However, a swift response from the military, mobile police personnel on special duty, and local vigilantes forced the attackers to retreat.

According to police sources, no casualties were recorded among security personnel or civilians.

The attack caused brief panic in the community, but normalcy has since been restored, and residents are going about their normal activities.

Meanwhile, the troops remain on high alert to prevent further incursions in the area while probing patrols have been intensified.
