Former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has advised Anthony Joshua against pursuing a rematch with Daniel Dubois.
Joshua, a two-time world champion, suffered a knockout defeat to Dubois in the fifth round of their IBF heavyweight title fight at Wembley Stadium last September.
Despite Joshua and his promoter, Eddie Hearn, expressing interest in a rematch, Fury believes the outcome would not be in Joshua’s favor. Speaking to SecondsOut, Fury stated:
“No [he can’t win the rematch]. I don’t think he can. I don’t even think he will take a rematch.”
Joshua has previously avenged a defeat, having reclaimed victory over Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019 after an initial stoppage loss. However, Fury remains skeptical about his chances against Dubois in a second fight.
