The Ibom Deep Seaport project is gaining momentum as the Akwa Ibom State Government intensifies engagements with technical experts to fast-track its realization.

Honourable Commissioner for Special Duties and Ibom Deep Seaport, Comrade Ini Ememobong, led a delegation from the ministry to a crucial meeting with the Technical Committee on the Ibom Deep Seaport and Ibom Industrial City, chaired by Mrs. Mfon Usoro.

The meeting focused on addressing technical and regulatory requirements, ensuring global best practices, and accelerating processes to position the seaport as a major economic hub.

Ememobong reaffirmed the state government’s unwavering commitment to the project, emphasizing its potential to drive industrialization, attract investment, and create thousands of jobs.

“With sustained collaboration and commitment from all stakeholders, we are making steady progress toward the full realization of the Ibom Deep Seaport,” he stated.

Mrs. Usoro assured that the technical committee is aligning all frameworks with international standards to ensure smooth implementation.

When completed, the Ibom Deep Seaport will ease congestion at Nigeria’s existing ports, boost regional trade, and establish Akwa Ibom as a strategic maritime and industrial powerhouse.
