Thursday February 6, 2025 | TheNewsDESK

The Police Service Commission, PSC, has appointed new Commissioners of Police for Taraba and Anambra states.

Chukwudi Chris Ariekpere from Abia State will take over as Taraba’s police commissioner, replacing CP Peter Oparah, while Livingstein Ikioye Orutugu from Bayelsa State has been assigned to Anambra, succeeding Obong Nnache Itam.

PSC Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd.), urged the newly appointed officers to take charge immediately and prevent any security lapses.

“The Commission will continue to monitor their conduct and provide support to ensure they succeed in their new roles,” Argungu said.

PSC spokesperson Ikechukwu Ani stated that the decision has been communicated to the Inspector General of Police for immediate implementation.
