Gov Fubara Approves ₦85,000 Minimum Wage For Rivers’ Civil Servants

Governor Siminalayi Fubara has approved a new minimum wage of ₦85,000 for civil servants in Rivers State.

This was announced by the Head of Service, George Nwaeke, after the governor granted approval during a closed-door meeting with labour leaders and senior government officials.

Nwaeke confirmed that the implementation of the new wage will take effect immediately.

Chukwu Emecheta, Chairman of the Joint Negotiation Team, praised Governor Fubara for meeting the expectations of workers in the state.

Similarly, Alex Agwanwor, the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Rivers State, stated that the wage increase would greatly ease the economic challenges faced by workers.
