In his acceptance speech following the election, DCP Udoh expressed deep gratitude for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to lead the group with integrity, transparency, and a renewed commitment to justice reform.

“This assignment is both a privilege and a call to service, a call to advance justice reform, strengthen the rule of law, and ensure that our criminal justice system works efficiently, fairly, and humanely for all citizens,” he said.

Highlighting the significance of the ACJL, Udoh described it as “a bold step towards transforming how justice is administered in our state, reducing delays, protecting human rights, and restoring public confidence in the justice process.”

He emphasized that the success of the Working Group would depend on collective effort and collaboration among all stakeholders, including the judiciary, police, correctional service, civil society, and development partners.

“I pledge to work with each of you with transparency, teamwork, and dedication,” he added. “Our success will depend on our unity of purpose and the shared belief that justice must be both accessible and accountable.”

Udoh concluded his remarks with a call for determination and professionalism as the group begins its task of implementing the provisions of the ACJL across police stations, courts, and correctional centres in the state.
