The Police Service Commission (PSC) has firmly denied social media rumors suggesting the cancellation of its 2022 constable recruitment exercise.
In a statement Tuesday, June 25, PSC spokesman Ikechukwu Ani clarified that these claims are baseless and misleading.
“The Commission has not and will not cancel the final list of successful candidates from the recruitment exercise, which was conducted in clear adherence to relevant guidelines and provisions of the law,” Ani emphasized.
Ani reassured that the PSC maintains full control over the recruitment process and has restored the recruitment portal to its original state. He encouraged successful candidates to ignore attempts to discredit the Commission’s efforts to ensure a transparent and inclusive recruitment process.
Highlighting the PSC’s commitment to upholding federal character, gender sensitivity, and merit in recruitment, Ani warned against any actions that could undermine the process. “The Commission restates that the portal is now fully functional and accessible. Candidates can now log in and access all its features without any disruptions,” he assured.
Ani acknowledged previous challenges during the recruitment process and assured the public of enhanced platform security. He reiterated the PSC’s readiness to address any concerns.
The ongoing dispute between the PSC and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) over the recruitment of police constables includes allegations of missing names and corruption.
The PSC has challenged the NPF to substantiate these claims with evidence while calling for a forensic audit of both organizations’ lists, maintaining confidence in the integrity of its candidate selection.
