In a move that has been widely praised as a rare display of humility and appreciation, Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has renamed the 21-storey Dakkada Towers after his predecessor, Udom Emmanuel.
Speaking at an anniversary thanksgiving and book presentation service at the State International Worship Center in Uyo, Governor Eno paid glowing tributes to Udom Emmanuel, crediting him with laying the foundation for his own success.
The Governor announced that the building would henceforth be known as Udom Emmanuel Towers, in recognition of his predecessor’s enduring legacy of peace and development in the state.
The renaming ceremony was attended by Udom Emmanuel himself, who was accompanied by his wife, Dr. (Mrs) Martha Emmanuel. The former Governor commended Governor Eno for his successful first year in office, attributing his success to the grace of God.
The event also featured the launch of a book, “Umo Eno: And It Came to Pass”, written by the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Anietie Usen.
The renaming of the Dakkada Towers is seen as a grand gesture of appreciation by Governor Eno, and has been hailed as a rare display of humility and respect for his predecessor.
