IGP Welfare Scheme: Akwa Ibom CP, Ayilara, presents cheques to families of deceased officers

The Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Police Command, CP Waheed Ayilara on behalf of the IGP, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM presented cheques of NINETEEN MILLION, SEVEN HUNDRED AND SIXTY-NINE THOUSAND, TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY-THREE NAIRA, FIFTY-SEVEN KOBO (N19,769,243.57) to Nineteen (19) members of families of fallen heroes who died while in active service in Akwa Ibom State Police Command as payment for claims in the Group Life Assurance/Group Personal Accident and IGP Family Welfare Schemes for 2023/2024.


A press release signed by the command PPRO, ASP Timfon John, says “the CP while making the Presentation on behalf of the IGP, condoled with the families of the fallen heroes, noting that the welfare of both serving and late officers is of paramount interest to the Inspector General of Police.

“He also appreciated the gesture by the IGP as the cheques will be a boost to the families and also a sign that their loved ones, though no longer with us, are not forgotten. The Commissioner of Police urged the beneficiaries to make use of the money judiciously.”

ASP John further said that: “the beneficiaries expressed their utmost appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police for the welfare package given to their various families and promised to make judicious use of the money given to them.”
