The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olukayode Egbetokun on Sunday, February 4, ordered the reactivation of the Police Smartforce Database System.

The initiative, according to IGP, is a crucial component of his digitalization efforts within the Police Force, aiming to ensure comprehensive recording of all officers’ details for administrative purposes.

The main objective of the database, according to a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi: “Is to tremendously enhance the competence and effective service delivery in all areas of policing, most especially in the smooth administrative management of the Nigeria Police Force as a whole.

“The system, which is integrated with modern technology and state-of-the-art appliances, will reduce reliance on manual and burdensome traditional administrative methods; thereby ensuring an effective management of the workforce of force.”

Emphasizing his vision for a technologically advanced Police Force driven by the integration of cutting-edge technology and artificial intelligence (AI), the IGP ordered the immediate commencement of the digitalization process across all Commands and Formations of the Force.

He said the directive aims to ensure timely upgrades and efficient operation of the system, adding that all officers are tasked with enrolling for the process at their respective commands and formations nationwide.
