Host Côte D’Ivoire are almost certainly out of the tournament after they were taking to the cleaners 4-0 by Equatorial Guinea in one of the last Group A matches on Monday.
With only three points and -3 gold aggregate, the 2023 African Cup of Nations hosts may not be among the best three teams to finish third in the groups to follow group winners and runners up into the next round.
Equatorial Guinea finished top of the group on seven points, same as Nigeria but the Super Eagles have inferior goals aggregate after they defeated Guinea Bissau 1-0 also on Monday.
