Gunmen have burnt down the palace of Igwe Emmanuel Nnabuife, the traditional ruler of Isseke Community in Ihiala local government area of Anambra State.
Isseke community in Anambra State has witnessed heightened tension and the traditional ruler’s palace was the recent.
Meanwhile, the alleged kidnapping of a former governor’s convoy driver after performing the funeral of his brother at Isseke and subsequent violent retaliation by gunmen have left the community in distress.
Confirming the recent attack, Igwe Emmanuel Nnabuife lamented that he had no problem with anyone in his community to warrant the incident.
“It is true that my palace was burnt down by some boys and I have lost everything that I laboured all my life to achieve and as it is now, I am homeless,” he said.
Reacting, the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Aderemi Adeoye, confirmed the incident. He disclosed that the Force had launched a manhunt for the fleeing perpetrators.
“Those boys in Isseke are now fleeing from Ihiala because of our operation there,” he added.
