The Akwa Ibom Government, through the ministry of Internal Security and Waterways, has purchased 14 gunboats which was later commissioned today Friday, 29th December 2023 at the NNS Jubilee Jetty, Ikot Abasi.
In a brief and colourful ceremony led by the Akwa Ibom Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, the gunboats were commissioned by the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogala.
