A’Ibom Rep Awards Indigent Students N50,000 Grant

No fewer than 80 tertiary institution students from Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency of Akwa Ibom State have been paid a sum of N50,000 each by the lawmaker representing the constituency, Clement Jimbo.

According to a statement made available to The PUNCH on Wednesday, Jimbo also organised a medical outreach, with no fewer than 2,000 constituents benefitting from free dental surgeries, tooth extraction, medical diagnosis and free medications.

Likewise, the lawmaker trained over 100 young women in different skills, empowering them with different starter packs, while giving new laptops to 70 students trained in information communication technology.

Speaking during the bursary disbursement on Wednesday, Jimbo said the empowerment programme was in line with his campaign promises.

“My philosophy of life is that leadership is a dedication to the welfare of the people, through capacity building, economic empowerment, financial contributions and support, welfare of the people and poverty alleviation,” he said.
