The Akwa Ibom Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has extended birthday felicitations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, commending his leadership style and principled decision-making since assuming office.
In a message marking the President’s birthday, the Governor described him as “a focused and courageous leader,” referencing the quote by Thomas Jefferson: “In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock.”
“Mr President Sir, since the currents of victory took you to Aso Rock on May 29, 2023, in matters of principled and focused leadership; in matters of taking bold and audacious decisions, you have stood like a rock,” he said.
The Governor noted that “across all sectors of our national life, the courageous decisions you took since your inauguration have steadied the Ship of State.”
He added, “The economy is rebounding; forex has stabilised, other indices of growth are showing great signs of progress. Sub-nationals now have more funds to execute audacious projects that touch and uplift the people.”
On the political front, the Governor, quoting Martin Luther King Jr., said the President is “moulding consensus,”adding that “Thomas Jefferson therefore couldn’t have been more apt in his leadership quote above.”
“As you celebrate your birthday today, on behalf of the Government and people of Akwa Ibom State, we pray for more robust health and wisdom to continue to steer the Ship of our Nation and renew our hope in the endless possibilities that abound.
