Akwa Ibom State Governor , Pastor Umo Eno, has urged residents of his Ibiakpan Obotim Ward 2 in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area to take full advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voters Card (PVC) registration exercise in order to participate actively in the democratic process ahead of future elections.

Governor Eno, who spoke during a meeting with members of his ward on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, emphasized that the PVC registration exercise, which commenced some time ago, remains open and accessible. He encouraged eligible residents to register so they can vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom he described as having performed well for Nigerians, and also support his own return to the Hilltop Mansion.
The Governor informed the people that the All Progressives Congress (APC) registration is currently ongoing, urging people who are yet to register to do so and officially become members of the party. According to him, the APC remains the dominant political party in the ward, the state and the country, noting that there is virtually no presence of any other political party. He stressed that registering with the APC would make residents bonafide members of the party.

He disclosed that the APC would soon begin the distribution of welfare packages to its members, explaining that the initiative is strictly a party welfare programme meant exclusively for registered APC members.
He added that the State Chairman of the APC has announced plans for a mock registration exercise to be conducted across all local government areas and the 369 wards in Akwa Ibom State, as part of efforts to strengthen the party’s membership database.

Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of Nsit Ubium Local Government Area expressed satisfaction in the Governor’s leadership, describing his administration as impactful and people-oriented. He noted that the Governor has delivered numerous projects across the state and has not disappointed the people of Nsit Ubium Local Government Area. According to him, Akwa Ibom State has become a model for others due to the Governor’s outstanding performance.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the APC in the area, Obong Stephen Ntokekpe, described Governor Umo Eno as a true unifier and a model of good leadership. He noted that since the creation of the state, such leadership qualities have rarely been seen. Ntokekpe added that while the governor travelled to the meeting, he visited several project sites across the state, describing the Governor’s habit of inspecting projects as a clear demonstration of effective leadership.
