Operatives of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command have arrested a suspected involved in the alleged theft of auto parts in Uyo.
According to reports, Police operatives, while on a routine patrol along Abak Road in Uyo, on Monday, August 26, 2025, at approximately 11:00 am, intercepted a Toyota Corolla Car with registration number BRS 03 AJ.
This was disclosed in a press release issued in Uyo on Saturday, September 6, 2025, by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Timfon John.
The PPRO said the driver of the vehicle, identified as Ugochukwu Igwe, was stopped and a search of the vehicle was conducted.
She said the search led to the recovery of several suspected stolen items, including two truck batteries, seven motor batteries, several pieces of motor catalysts, A motor condenser and an alternator.
Also, other valuable properties were recovered from the vehicle.
DSP Timfon John further stated that the suspect is currently in police custody and is undergoing investigation.
