Uyo Federal Constituency, in a show of unity and political resolve, has adopted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Umo Eno as their sole candidates for the 2027 General Elections.
The adoption came on the heels of a call made by Senator Aniekan Bassey of Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District during the Arise Town Square and Empowerment Series held at the Ibom Hall Grounds, Uyo, on Saturday, August 9.
The motion, which captured the mood and aspirations of the people, was duly moved and seconded by Hon. Mark Esset of Uyo/Uruan/Nsit Atai/Ibesikpo Asutan Federal Constituency and Hon. Ubong Attah of Ibesikpo Asutan State Constituency.

Speaking before the enthusiastic crowd, Senator Bassey declared, “We have come to the crescendo of all that has been said today. We are here to adopt the eulogies, emotions, and goodwill messages expressed by our people into legislative text.”
According to Senator Bassey, who is the Senate Chairman of Diaspora and NGOs, the motion is timely and richly deserved, given the track record of Governor Umo Eno in Uyo Federal Constituency.
He lauded the Governor’s strides in economic renaissance, infrastructural renewal, and human capital development, noting that these achievements have significantly improved the quality of life for residents.
Senator Bassey further hinted that the ARISE event symbolized a collective and united political front and a resounding vote of confidence in the leadership of Tinubu, and Umo Eno.
