The Deputy State Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Imo State, Hon. Amadi Chidi C., has described the party as “Nigeria’s Noah’s Ark,” declaring it as the only viable platform to rescue the country and the state from political and economic turbulence, InsideAgwa reported.
Speaking during a special Saturday, morning programme, with Inside Correspondence, Rita Onuoha on July 5, 2025, Hon. Amadi poured encomium on the Imo State Chairman of the party, Prof. James Okoroma, for his exceptional leadership style, describing him as a detribalised Nigerian, an astute political manager, and a man of both local and global political vision.
“Prof. Okoroma is not one for ‘eating politics.’ He is building capacity within the party structure and providing internal cohesion rarely seen in party politics. Imo ADC, under his watch, is alive, well, and stronger than ever,” Amadi stated.
The ADC chieftain further expressed appreciation to the Orlu Zone ADC Caucus for their strategic outreach and groundwork in bringing key stakeholders and political heavyweights on board the coalition.
Reacting to the ongoing wave of defections into the ADC across Imo State, Hon. Amadi noted:
“ADC is the Noah’s Ark of our generation. It is timely, historic, and equipped to carry everyone safely to political relevance. We’re excited that the likes of Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and immediate past Governor of Imo State, has joined this movement with the right spirit.”
He acknowledged rumours circulating about the possible defection of other prominent figures including Dr. Chima Matthew Amadi, Rt. Hon. Emeka Nwajiuba, Senator Athan Achonu, and Hon. Uche Nwosu, stating:
“Politics thrives on speculation. However, the truth remains that good things attract attention. ADC is now the new bride—admired and sought after. If they decide to join this rescue mission, they will surely add colour and strength to our collective cause. The more, the merrier.”
On the much-anticipated meeting of the Orlu Zone ADC Caucus scheduled for today, Hon. Amadi revealed it was convened to deliberate on recent developments within the coalition, reinforce alignment, and strategize on the next course of action.
