All is now set for the official launch of the ARISE Human Capital Development Initiative and the unveiling of the Local Government HCD Implementation Roadmap and Strategic Plan in Akwa Ibom State today, Monday, April 14, 2025.

The Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, is expected in the State as a special guest to launch the initiative scheduled to hold at Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo.

The ARISE Human Capital Development Initiative, a key component of Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda, aims to build and empower the human resource base of Akwa Ibom State, with strategic focus on education, healthcare, skills acquisition, digital innovation, and inclusive economic development.

The initiative also seeks to reposition local government structures for more effective service delivery, while promoting sustainable livelihoods across the 31 Local Government Areas of the State.

Governor Umo Eno believes that the real wealth of the state lies in its people. Reason why he has put in place several strategic initiatives to re-awaken the spirit of enterprise and get our people off the street and into work.

The Number 2 citizen’s visit to Uyo for the launch of the ARISE Human Capital Development Initiative and the unveiling of the ARISE Local Government HCD Implementation Roadmap and Strategic Plan, is more than a ceremonial stop – it is a celebration of vision, leadership, and the commitment to building people.

Since assumption of Office, Governor Eno has quietly but resolutely charted a new course anchored on the ARISE Agenda—an agenda not built on empty political slogans but on practical, people-centered initiatives that speak to the heart of development.

The ARISE Human Capital Development Initiative represents a shift from dependency to dignity, from handouts to empowerment. It is about nurturing talents, sharpening skills, and preparing a generation of Akwa Ibomites not just to work jobs, but to create them.

Governor Umo Eno’s leadership has been marked by humility, thoughtfulness, and integrity—qualities too rare in today’s political landscape. He listens, he learns, and above all, he leads—not with noise, but with results.

That is why the presence of the Vice President in Uyo today carries such weight. It is not just a federal function—it is a federal recognition. It is a salute to a Governor whose governance has become a model. It is a signal that when leadership is right at the sub-national level, the center takes notice.

Let every Akwa Ibomite rise to this moment. Let us rally behind a governor who has made our future his priority. Let us embrace the ARISE Agenda not just as policy, but as a personal call to responsibility, excellence, and service.

Akwa Ibom is on the rise. And as Vice President Shettima lands in Uyo today, he is not just witnessing our progress—he is affirming it.
